...care with a friendly face! |
Our practice was established in the Heathfield area in 1948. As the area has changed, so has the practice. Once we cared predominantly for farm animals: now we are a modern, well-equipped, mixed practice where all species of animals are equally well cared for.
The practice philosophy is care with a friendly face. We constantly review our work, policies and procedures to give our clients the best service - farmers, horse and pet owners alike. We are also happy to offer first aid and rehabilitation for stray animals and wildlife. |

We aim for life-long care for our patients, whether healthy or ill, and feel that prevention is better than cure. This is why we are happy to give advice at all levels, ranging from before conception - for example, on the canine side, hip scoring and eye testing to ensure healthy breeding stock; through the puppy stage - vaccinating and training; the young adult - choices on family planning; the older dog - the problems of ageing and helping you through the difficult decisions sometimes necessary towards the end of life. |
 |
 |
Our patients also need help with correct nutrition and weight control, effective parasite control programmes and preventative health screening and we can offer practical advice on these and many other topics.
At the time of your pet's annual vaccination we take the opportunity to perform a full health check. In this way we can spot problems before they are too far advanced. |

All of our staff undergo constant training to ensure that they are up to date and able to provide the highest level of service. We are proud to be included in the list of British Small Animal Veterinary Association approved premises and we are also an approved Veterinary Nurse training centre. From time to time we also have school students on work experience or veterinary students on extra-mural rotation from university. |

Within the practice there are areas of special interest, with individuals pursuing continuing professional development.
In very complex or unusual cases, we can, with your permission, seek help or referral from outside practitioners with other specialised interests or facilities. |
 |
Our team of vets, nurses, receptionists and support staff try very hard to achieve the highest standards of diagnosis, treatment and care of all species. Since our patients cannot speak for themselves, it is important to maintain good communication between colleagues, staff and clients to ensure we all achieve the high standards we seek.
If you are a new or prospective client, we look forward to welcoming you and your animals to our care. If you have been with us for a while, we thank you for your support in the past and look forward to a long continued association. |
